hihi! im fischl (as you already probably know),

2. How long have you been making websites?

since the end of 2023 & beginning of 2024 is when i offically started, but i sucked at it and abandoned it for months until november when nekofetti was born!! (other sites came after it but they never really went anywhere..)

3. And what got you into the hobby?

seeing other people's sites! i think plasticdino was the first site i visited ever :3

4. What kind of website are you most interested in?

other cute sites!! and sites that has lots of buttons, and things to look at and read..

5. What's your workflow? Do you plan your websites out thoroughly or do you come up with the design as you go along?

i've tried planning before, but i never end up following my own plan and winging it.

6. Please link to your biggest inspirations.

omg i have so many i can't even remember them all! but if i had to say it would be lazerbunny, plasticdino, swirl

7. What's your favourite part about making websites?

i hate figuring out layouts.. i never know where to put anything!!! T_T i love decorating though!!!! fun colors and sparkles everywhere!! :D

8. And the thing you struggle with the most?

javascript...... ಠ_ಠ

9. Do you keep the same layout on all of your pages? Or do you use different ones?

different layout for each page :D makes it more fun and interesting for me

10. How confident are you with CSS?

pretty confident i would say! i'm not always perfect with it though..

11. Do you know how to correctly use <dl>?

what is that.........??????/ o_o

12. What is your favourite HTML element?

hmm.. the img element has to be my favorite! the simplest thing to write in my opinion

13. If you're making a new web page from scratch, what is the first thing you do?

backgrounds and a main box to put everything in!

14. Do you know JavaScript?

heck no, but i wish i did!

16. Does your website have a theme that you stick to?

pink and cute!

17. Are you more focused on content or design?

design first usually, content after :3

no i don't, i don't really know what id do with it or how to set it up. but maybe!

i love them!!!

20. Is your HTML valid? Do you even check?

aaaa probably not? idk i never check it unless there is an issue Xp

21. What are your opinion on buttons and banners?

i love buttons!! having buttons on one nice little page is much easier than bookmarking every site

22. What do you think of button walls in particular?

amazing and perfect!! they're kind of like a little apartment thing :D

23. If you started over again, would you make something similar or completely different?

maybe! i could never restart though, too tiring

24. Are you envious of other people's websites?

yeah...... they're so cool how could i not?!!??!

i can preview whatever im working on, though i don't use it much because i work on my website between 2 computers

27. Do you host your image files on your web server, or on another host?

a mix of both i guess! i use filegarden 99% of the time but i sometimes save stuff on here

28. This might not be relevant to you, but what's your opinion on the Neocities vs. Nekoweb debate?

29. How much server space would you estimate your main website takes up?

probably not much i would think?

30. Do you keep local backups of your files?

yes i have it downloaded i need to do that more often *sobs*

31. Do you prefer simple or highly visual websites?

both are good tbh.. though i do like highly visual sites a bit more

32. Do you stick to certain colours? Do you do that on purpose, or is it your subconscious?

pink everywhere........... (and sometimes i do, i just pick whatever colors i wanti guess)

33. Have you ever thought about quitting? Why?

No! i mean long breaks maybe, but quitting never!!

34. Do you have many webmaster friends, or is it a solitary hobby?

its pretty solitary for me (irl anyways), i have many neighbors on here though :D

35. Do people in your real life know about your website?

no ;-;

36. Do you update your website very often? How often is "very often"?

i update like a couple times every few days at the least! it varies a lot

37. And the overall design, do you change that much? Why or why not?

If i don't like a page il redo it, and that doesn't happen too often i don't think..

its more me & hobby focused i would say!

no...

i would love to in the future!!

not really, unless its for school work i suppose

i use tumblr a lot so yes!

43. How about instant messengers? Do you use a mainstream one like Discord or Telegram? Or something like Matrix? Do you avoid them?

i also use discord a lot too... :'3

44. Do you listen to music while you work on websites? If so, what kinds of artists?

if im in the mood for it! i need silence sometimes while working, or i just listen to people around me chatting (in public)
usually OSTs like minecraft and ddlc :3

45. Do you keep everything you make on one website, or do you have more than one?

nekofetti is the only site i use :D

46. On a similar note, do you keep to one topic on your site, or many?

many topics i guess? i keep it all in my journal though :D

47. Do you present your real self, or at least try? Or do you construct a persona on purpose?

its a mix of both!

acquaintences yes! friends no.. (its not a bad thing though!)

49. Are you happy with the way HTML and CSS currently work?

ya :D i like it

50. What are practices that you think people should avoid?

not using folders!! organize your stuff!!!! organization is important because website and filegarden (or other file hosts) can get VERY messy if you don't..

51. What about under-utilised practices, or things you think people should do more?

using the comment tag in html!! its helpful with keeping track of style tags if you inline a lot of stuff!! here

52. Do you use a lot of semantic HTML? Or are you guilty of generic structure?

i use a mix of both i guess? (had to google what it was while writing this..)

53. Do you consider different browsers?

i've never looked into any others, i just never thought about it

54. Speaking of, what's your preferred browser? Convince your readers why they should use it.

google chrome (i like it and im just used to it)

55. And what OS are you on?

apple OS! ive also used windows previously to that (and my school chromebook)

i just happen to use it

no unfortunately..

i personally dislike it, especially if the music is loud.... ambience/quiet music is fine i guess..

i love them and i'm in many!!!

i plan on making some later on!!

probably.. ("cutecore/kawaiicore" is used a lot, but i like it!!!)

i don't really have an ideal site tbh :p i & just do what i want

Yeah! ive tried drawing my own stuff for my site, but it never looks good..

forgetting to finish working on a part of site..... happens too often

organize your stuff. trust me..

a mix of both again, but mostly

love them amazing 10/10 (i used it for my homepage!)

ya, sometimes :D usually to see how they did something on their site

have seperate folders for each persons things :D so they don't get mixed up!

yes i love visiting other peoples sites, especially new ones!!!!!! its like a mini vacation.. ️🏖️

yes, i do that a lot X_X and omg if i knew someone bookmarked mine i would sob happy tears

how pretty and well decorated it is ^_^

yes, i have a couple cds! i would like to get a bigger collection too, dvds as well :D

a few hours after school, but it depends on energy and if im busy :P

other teenagers like me :D though everyone is welcome ofc! (just don't be weird..)

i just write whatever directly into the html file i want it in :p

leave an archive, i know id be sad never being able to revisit something of mine later on in the future :C

my online self and irl self are very different in my opinion
